Getting to Know Avalon - A Guided Tour of the SDK.

... I thought it would be helpful to put together a quick guided tour of the SDK reference documentation and overviews to give you some sense of the major feature areas and technologies worthy of further investigation. Unfortunately, the online WinFX SDK is still under construction and as a result the contents list doesn't provide a hugely intuitive overview of where to start looking. .... My suggestion is that you use the links below as launch points for your own exploration: follow a trail to understand an area, then come back to this entry and move on to the next section. [via Microsoft WebBlogs]

Weird, I would have thought the best place to put this quick guided tour would be with the SDK, not a couple of random places on the web. Time to write a blog entry but not to write the SDK. I do hope the quality of the software is better than this attitude.

Pete, I'm sorry you feel we've got the wrong attitude here. Just as a bit of background, this SDK tour thing was purely a personal reflection, and like most blog entries doesn't necessarily reflect the opinion of the entire team. There's an entire team dedicated to building a high-quality SDK, it's just that they're not done yet and the current SDK reflects a work in progress. The idea of the CTP releases is to give everyone a heads up on the current product status, even at the risk of exposing our dirty laundry somewhat. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
